Fiddlehead Farms to offer nutrition program

Article Date: Tuesday, February 12, 2008 - Fosters Daily Democrat

DOVER Fiddlehead Farms is teaming with Janice Johnston to create a diet and nutrition question and answer program called Food For Thought.

Janice Johnston, of Heartstone Publishing, LLC, recently published "Lunch Box Menus For You," a book to help parents create healthy school lunches for their child and encourage healthy eating habits. The book provides 40 different five-day menu cycles, which equal 200 different lunch menus.

The complimentary Food For Thought program offers customers the opportunity to email Johnston, a registered dietitian in Dover, questions about diet or nutrition in general.

She will send a personal response that is tailored to their needs.

"Our goal is to provide our customers tools to create a healthy lifestyle for themselves," said Jennie Halstead, business manager at Fiddlehead Farms. "Through the program we hope people will have access to information specifically for them sourced from an expert."

Johnston will kick off the program with a "meet the author" session on Feb. 16 from 12 to 3 p.m. at Fiddlehead Farms, 920 Central Ave.

For more information, contact Jennie Halstead at 749-9800 or visit Fiddlehead's website at fiddleheadfarmsmarket.com.
